What is ‘X’? Interestingly enough, ‘X’ is the Greek letter “chi”. And it’s the first letter in the Greek word for Christ. And ‘X’ has been accepted as a representation for Christ since the mid 1500’s. That’s why I say we need to solve for ‘X’—Christ is actually the answer for any problem we’re trying to solve. Well, actually we don’t have to solve for ‘X’. God made it simple for us—‘X’ actually is the answer. He’s not just “The Answer” for our lives, but he’s the answer in every part of our lives. If you’ve already realized that Christ is the answer in your life in general, that’s great. That means you have invited Christ into your life, and you’ve recognized your need for Him. But how about those everyday situations, those problems you’re facing, or even just having that interaction on a daily basis—Have you invited Him into those?
John 14:6: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” If you were wondering if there are multiple ways to God, there aren’t. Christ clearly stated that He is the only way. He narrowed it down for us—to just Him. And there is no other thing, or any other religion, that will provide for us the ultimate answer—eternal life, and eternal life with Him.
Phlippians 4:19: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Those needs we have on a regular basis—we can be tempted to figure a lot of these things out on our own. But it’s not always an answer we can provide on our own. When we recognize our limits, that’s a good thing. We’ve come to the end of ourselves and now He can take over. We can’t provide all of the answers to life’s problems on our own. That’s when we turn to Him and say, “God, I’m not enough, but you are.”
Job 22:21: “Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.” Job was a prominent figure in the Bible. Job was a man of God. And one thing that can be said about Job was that he knew God. Job is mostly remembered for the difficult things he went through. But people often forget the good things that happened to Job—that He was blessed in many ways and ultimately what He had lost had been restored to him two-fold. Job knew God, it was just a matter of time until he was restored and made whole.
Isaiah 30:21: “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This [is] the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” Sometimes we don’t know which way to go in life. These are also the times when we should immediately look up and ask God. Those decisions we need to make, those multiple choice questions life gives us, those forks in the road that come our way—God wants to help us in these as well. But we just need to ask Him. And when we inquire and wait patiently for an answer, He will provide.
Psalms 37:4: “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” When we delight ourselves in Him, we don’t need to worry about our own desire either. God knows those things we long for in our hearts. And He knows how to get them to us in the right time. Sometimes these are the things we are afraid to entrust God with the most. But be assured, we can trust Him with these as well. For who knows us better than God? And who knows what we want better than God? That’s why He’s the answer to whatever equation we face.
