Sometimes the lens we start to see things through is a distortion based on people who have wronged us in the past. Sometimes the lens is distorted because of the culture we live in. And sometimes the lens is distorted because we are only seeing from our own perspective, and not the perspective of other people. But regardless, none of these lenses actually help our vision. In fact, they make it worse. We are now seeing a distortion on top of distortion.
